Meet Our Team

Michael Broome is a first-generation college- graduate born and raised in Spartanburg, SC. He graduated from USC-Upstate in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies. In 2023, he will receive his Master of Education degree with a concentration in Curriculum and Teaching from National University. He is a College Advisor for TRiO Upward Bound at the University of South Carolina. Here, he helps students reach their academic goals, get college placement, and to understand financial literacy. He is passionate about serving students who are historically marginalized.

 Diva Hemphill (CEIC) holds an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Midlands Technical College, a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Limestone College, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Strayer University. She works at Greenville Technical College as the Assistant Director of Student Support Services and a Freshman Seminar Instructor. She makes a daily difference in students' lives by teaching them how to succeed in college, connecting them to needed resources, and providing accountability for their academic progress. 

Diva brings over ten years of human services experience, including work as a case manager with the Department of Social Services, which involved work with LRADAC-Alcohol Abuse and Drug Treatment, Mental Health, and the Board of Disability. Her background proves her exceptional skills as an educator and her vast experience working with people from all walks of life. 

Ricco Booker has 15 years of experience in Human Services, which allows him to teach students better ways of tapping into their full potential in all areas of their lives. Being a coach of young men and women, he builds bonds and relationships that empower them for life experiences. Coaching and serving as a Career Development Facilitator forward Ricco the opportunity to connect with the youth on levels relatable to them as he demonstrates how to brand, market, and network in ways that will land students in careers instead of jobs.
